Cobain documentary gets DVD release

Kurt Cobain: About a Son, a documentary based on previously unheard audio interviews between Cobain and writer Michael Azerrad, will be released on DVD on February 19. Cobain tells the story of his life in his own words — from childhood to becoming a household name — culled from twenty-five hours of conversation with Azerrad that he used to write Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana. Director A.J. Schnack took those interviews and merged them with newly filmed imagery of the three cities in Washington that played a role in Cobain’s life: Aberdeen, Olympia and Seattle. Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard wrote the original score. Check out the trailer here and a clip from the movie here.
