When the lineup for this year's Coachella was announced, a lot of people voiced dissatisfaction at the fact that The Killers were the second day's headliners because they are small beans when compared to other headliners in the past (and the other headliners of this year, the Cure and Paul McCartney). There's speculation that The Killers are a placeholder who will be replaced by a bigger name closer to the date, but the Coachella message board hoard has taken to the Coachella website demanding a bigger headliner.
Among the suggested headliners: Metallica, Bob Dylan, Kanye West, David Bowie (who was speculated as a headliner), Wu Tang Clan, and, uh, Coldplay.
The Bowie one would be amazing, but I'm not sure Coldplay would really be a step up from the Killers. I can't blame the message board peeps though--I'd feel hosed if I finally shelled out for Coachella thinking I might see Daft Punk or Prince, and got The Killers instead. [Daily Swarm]

It WOULD be a huge step, sorry.
