Clipse Rap Over DOOM On 'Selector' (Video)

Pitchfork TV premiered its hip-hop-oriented Selector today. The show features rappers getting interviewed about beat selection and freestyling, and eventually picking between two beats to rap over. In this first episode, Clipse head to the stoop of the building from Coming to America and choose the instrumental from DOOM's "Gazillion Ear" to rap over instead of the Very Best's "Julia." That's probably a good choice, though "Julia" is more in-line with the better Clipse beats in terms of sparseness. This is a pretty novel for a show (it makes me long for the days of Yo MTV Raps, which is a good thing(, and here's hoping there's some really random choices down the line. [P4K

Great idea for a show.

Seconding Brandon's response and simply adding that I really just liked hearing Clipse over a Dilla beat.

don't you mean they're rapping over J DILLA? Yes, that's a J Dilla beat, not Doom.

Looks like they're on the road to redemption after that ghastly "Casket" lol.
