While it's not clear where or when exactly this show took place, Clipse played a set last Friday (April 30). And during that set, which included "Popular Demand (Popeyes)," Pusha T and Malice apparently announced that they intend on releasing solo albums this year. Unfortunately, those are the only details available surrounding this news right now, but here goes some ol' fashioned predictions:
That's all I got for now. Hopefully these will actually come out, though I highly doubt we'll see them this year. Also, here's hoping they continue to branch out production-wise as they did on Til the Casket Drops, which, though disappointing on all fronts, was marred by weak production from the Neptunes. Let's keep DJ Khalil and Sean C & LV on board, Pusha and Malice, but drop Chad and Pharrell. They deserve a break anyway.
How bout just drop Pharrell. He's the one that ruined a bunch of the songs by jumping all over them.
Yeah, but ... fine, "Popular Demand (Popeyes)" has a nice beat so maybe we can rely on Chad to do more stuff like that and what he brought to Mos Def's The Ecstatic.
Til The Casket Drops will grow on you, trust. I wasnt into much but found myself going back for more frequently. Door Man bangs out so hard. I do think it wouldnt hurt them to branch out and work with some other producers.
DJ Quik in particular would be a dream.
