Frank Sinatra was actually quoting a "General Lincoln" when he made the "drinking" comment in his famous 'Sinatra at the Sands"
concert of the mid 1960's. It was quite clearly meant as a joke in a closing monologue.
I would recommend everyone listen to this gem of a Las Vegas performance. It is quite simply the greatest live musical performance ever put to vinyl. Sinatra, Basie and Q swing baby!!!
