Cisneros Cuts Trademark Locks After Sleep Reunion, Prepping New Sets From Om and Shrinebuilder

San Francisco rock gods Sleep recently reunited for the first time in fifteen years for a couple of shows at ATP's Fans Strike Back. Though bassist Al Cisneros, guitarist Matt Pike, and drummer Chris Haikus have all found varying degrees of success with post-Sleep projects, the band's reformation rekindled some of the magic that helped them burst onto the scene so many years ago. In a post-show interview with Vice, the band was cryptic about whether the reunion would jump the pond for some American dates, Cisneros was recently spotted sans reunion hair. Whether some correlation can be made between locks and projects remains to be seen, it's a safe bet that any Sleep reunion won't happen until Cisneros finishes promotion on the new Om album, God is Good, due September 8. Cisneros will also be making appearances this fall with Shrinebuilder with the release of the group's first album.
