Christina Aguilera to Star in <i>Burlesque</i>

Hopefully this won't be anything like a two-hour long version of the video for "Lady Marmalade."Christina Aguilera is set to star in Burlesque, her first role in a motion picture as a "small town girl with a big voice"(saw that one coming, did you?). The script was written by Steven Antin and later revised by Erin Brokovich-writer Susannah Grant. It initially contained some contributions from Diablo Cody, but those might have been scrubbed out? According to Slashfilm, Aguilera's character "tries to escape a hollow past by performing in a neo-burlesque club in Los Angeles." What is neo-burlesque? It might be a clue that screenwriter Antin's sister created The Pussycat Dolls in 1995. Nicole Scherzinger, watch out?
