After the joke stealing debacles caused by Dane Cook and Carlos Mencia, Chris Rock may be the next target of the Internet comedy police after cracking a joke similar to Aziz Ansari.
Rock appeared on the Aug. 9 episode of the The Daily Show to promote his new movie, 2 Days in New York. During the interview, he mentioned that struggling to come up with new material is only a problem for comedians, while singers like Sting can play “Roxanne” forever with no problem.
Ansari made a similar quip during a July 11 interview on Sirius radio over a month before Rock’s appearance. The only difference was that the song example Ansari provided was “Every Breath You Take.”
Even more interesting, Ansari’s complaints began with a story about telling Rock how he felt after his tenth year as a standup while both were trying out material at NYC’s Comedy Cellar. Watch below via The Huffington Post.
