He who looks like the Dark Lord, Chris Cornell, will keep on trucking down the road as 2007 comes to a close. The ex-Soundgarden/Audioslave frontman is still supporting his solo album from earlier this year, Carry On. Cornell will bring along quite the cool opening band for his September/October North American dates: retro-rocking New York City trio Earl Greyhound. Then Cornell will head to New Zealand and Australia to serve as an opener for...ummm...not too cool of a band: Linkin Park. After that, Cornell is back on these shores for more solo touring. Saw three of Chris Cornell's shows this month so far (Vancouver, Seattle, and Portland, in rapid succession), and I must say, those shows were the best live rock shows I've seen this year and for a lot of years! If you get a chance to go to a show on the last leg of the US tour this year, go! It is worth way more than the ticket price. Also, Earl Greyhound rocked as the supporting act. Would definitely recommend catching up with them at a show as well.

I agree. We saw Chris perform at the Val Air Ballroom in Des Moines a few weeks ago and it was excellent! His voice was on top form and the songs ranged from Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog to his newer solo songs. Definitely worth the money! You can tell he and the band were really enjoying themselves. They performed four or five encore songs.
