It's been a week since Chris Brown posted bail for making criminal threats, after the singer allegedly assaulted girlfriend Rihanna, putting her in the hospital. Brown has remained quiet on the subject, choosing silence over ending speculation. That is until now, as Brown has released a public statement regarding the incident, saying:

“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writing under my name are frauds.”

So, I'm wondering what parts of the story that have been circulating are "wrong." That he bit Rihanna? That he hit her at all? That he ran off with the keys to his Lambo?

But Brown did make a well-placed reference to getting with a pastor, since that's generally the reaction of celebrities who get in trouble--they find religion. It's still unfortunate that none of what actually happened is completely confirmed (or denied) yet, since this story seems destined to make the rounds for weeks until what really happened comes out.
