Axl says "Chinese Democracy" to be released March 6

Via: NME
And whatever Axl says comes true, right?
We know, we know. Talking about possible Chinese Democracy release dates is soooo pointless. Everyone is beyond bored with the delays, and Mr. Rose is basically just baiting his fans at this point.
All true. But we're just as excited/intrigued by this whole mess as the next person, and something tells us that the latest development in the saga might just be real. Yesterday Axl posted an "open letter" to fans on the Guns N' Roses website in which he declared that, barring any unforeseen complications of course, Chinese Democracy will see the light of day on March 6, 2007.
It takes approximately eight weeks for an album to hit the shelves once it has been turned in to the record company. For whatever reasons, it appears that it may have been mistakenly inferred by management that this time period could be condensed to three weeks. With that being said, this is not a promise, a lie or a guarantee, but we do wish to announce a tentative release date of March 6. This is the first time we have done this publicly for this album. Others have made up all the other dates for their own reasons. We would like to assure the fans that everything in our power will be done to meet this date. Once it is finalized and official, you will be notified. If we are delayed for unseen reasons, you also will be notified as soon as possible in regard to a new date, and the album will be released as shortly thereafter as is possible. We thank you for your patience.

The rest of the letter goes on to semi-convincingly explain away the previous missed release dates and how GNR was basically not responsible for any of them--blame it on the suits! It also announces that as a result of the imminent March 6 release date, Guns N' Roses have had to cancel the following tour dates:
January 10: Sacramento
January 11: Bakersfield
January 13: Reno
January 16: San Diego

Not that missed tour dates really mean anything in the world of Axl Rose, right?
Alright, we'll admit it--dude has us hoping.
