A bunch of tracks leaked earlier this summer may or may not be finished versions of songs from Guns N’ Roses long-delayed Chinese Democracy, but the album may be closer to a release date than previously imagined. Frontman Axl Rose’s new management team, Front Line Management, are currently in talks to release the album exclusively through a big box retailer, and are leaning towards Best Buy or Wal-Mart.
You’d think that Rose’s record company, Interscope, would want to diversify the stores and try to recoup the ridiculous amount of money Rose allegedly spent on the album, but the deal could drum up additional hype alongside the ridiculous anticipation fans have after 14 years of silence from Rose.
Meanwhile, at least one track reportedly from the album will be out on September 14 to coincide with the release of Rock Band 2. [Billboard]

Awesome move. Wait 14 years, and then choose to release your album through a store that most of your fan base probably hates.
