China admits pulling a Milli Vanilli at Olympic opening ceremonies (Video)

Chinese officials have admitted that 9-year-old Lin Miaoke was lip-synching "Hymn to the Motherland" at the Olympic ceremonies. The real singer was 7-year-old Yang Peiyi.

The reason?

"The main consideration was the national interest. The child on the screen should be flawless in image, in her internal feelings and in her expression," says Chen.

The musical director says it was a "last-minute decision, a choice we had to make" to swap out the singer.

Really, what are we teaching our kids? That right there is what's wrong with society. If you're not pretty or skinny than you're basically S.O.L... way to go!

I don't believe it! A Totalitarian state that manipulates reality for its own benefit - utter nonsense!

Seriously though....these are they guys that poli-sci majors look up to? We're in deep trouble.

I really like the little wonky-toothed one. That's got nothing to do with the fact that I have messed up teeth too.

I'm with you Contessian. Messed up teeth are cute on little kids. I also have a jacked up tooth though.

...And then one of my onlays just randomly fell out of my tooth. What?!
