Chillwave Artists Pay Tribute To Lindsay Lohan On Free Mixtape

Lindsay Lohan began her first day in jail yesterday (July 20) to serve her 90-day sentence for violating the terms of her probation—although some reports suggest she may only be in the slammer for as little as 13 days. As we ponder the vagaries of the legal system, an unlikely group of musical artists have banded together to pay tribute to Lohan, in the shape of a free mixtape available from the Tri Angle Records label.

The musicians who have contributed material for the mix include chillwavers oOoOO and Oneohtrix Point Never, and a little text on the download page explains their collective intent: “Inspired in part by Lindsay Lohan’s grotesquely fascinating black hole existence and in part by my unwavering belief in the power of pop music as an artform, I saw an opportunity to create something interesting with her music, and decided to ask some friends to reinterpret some of Lindsay’s songs.”

The mix is titled Let Me Shine With You and can be downloaded from this link on the Dis magazine website. “Even though we are all fond of Lindsay in our own ways, there is no FREE LINDSAY agenda here,” the note continues. “We all love pop music and this is merely an experiment. All of our intentions are very sincere.” The track listing looks like this:

01 Babe Rainbow: I Can Try To Run (Stuck)

02 Laurel Halo: sinh (Something I Never Had)

    03 Autre Ne Veut: Bossy

04 oOoOO: I Live For The Day

    05 Stalker: Disconnection (Disconnected)

06 Oneohtrix Point Never: LL [Stresswave Edit] (Something I Never Had / Over)
