For one developer with plenty of time on his hands, the original Super Mario Bros. was a little behind its time. The classic NES game has now been partially remade for the system Atari 2600.
The aesthetic and some mechanics are simplified, but the 1985 game manages to adapt to the 1977 technology remarkably well. Level 1-1 is all that’s been made so far, but there are supposedly 15 more levels on the way. Check it out over at AtariAge and watch footage of the demo below. [The Verge]
