Gainsbourg album to get U.S. release

Via Filter:
I've been wondering lately how much good buzz Charlotte Gainsbourg's 5:55 was going to have to accumulate before a record label on this side of the Atlantic decided to pick it up. And really, why did it need any other kind of backing beyond that she's the daughter of misanthropic musical mad genius Serge Gainsbourg? (I could add here that she's also quite cute, but that would be misogynist and not very central to any argument.)
So finally, on April 24th, Atlantic/VICE will distribute the album in America. Think of it as a companion piece to Air's new album out this week, Pocket Symphony. Jean-Benoit Dunckel and Nicolas Godin wrote for and played on the album, and brought along Jarvis Cocker and The Divine Comedy's Neil Hannon, who similarly guest on Pocket. More guests on 5:55 include Tony Allen, drummer for Fela Kuti and now part of supergroup The Good, The Bad, and The Queen; and Beck's pops David Campbell, who adds strings.

This album is absolutely fantastic and you forgot maybe the biggest name of all on this record: Nigel Godrich. And yes she is insanely beautiful and a great actress. Not only should you buy this album but you should rent Science of Sleep. Basically, she's going to make you fall in love with her through one medium or another.

Nigel did produce the album, the others mentioned were just guest collaborators.
