So now that even Jeff Buckley gets a biopic, it's time to move onto tangentially music related figures for the newest slate of announced biopics in production: Apparently there is a biopic of Hilly Kristal, the owner of CBGBs, in the works, detailing the time when he basically gave a home for American punk rock. It will be told through Hilly's eyes, and center around 1974-1977, when the Ramones, Television and the Talking Heads, among many more, played CBs regularly. The big hurdle here is trying to secure licensing of the music, but apparently producers are banking on that; the film is set to start filming this year. [MTV]
