As we reported yesterday, Lily Allen has been dissing Katy Perry, firstly, for imitating Lily's style and secondly for her "I'm like a fatter version of Amy Winehouse and a skinner version of Lily Allen" comment. On British radio yesterday, Allen said she had no time for Perry as a musician, describing her lyrics as "crass."
Perry has now struck back, in the guise of an apology, she claims Allen needs to get a sense of humour. She admits making the skinny comment to usmagazine.com. "Yeah, I made a joke about [that] earlier this year." Perry continues, "I was just kind of joking and trying to be funny. I didn't mean anything by it. Comedians are not necessarily to be taken super seriously." Round two Miss Perry. [NME]

If there is any truth to this article, (and there could be) Katy Perry would be the second person on record, to tell Lily Allen, no harm no foul. All that Elton John had to do was say, Nah Lily Allen is my friend, and he did that! Here's my point! Lily Allen is provoked yeah! that's right. Going back to Cheryl (Tweedy) Cole, the drummer from the band Jet, being insulted by Jo Wiley for no reason, the French girl outside of Ronnie Scotts jazz club and even though Elton John was in on it, (ya' gonna have another drink ) didn't help her case. If someone is written about, talked about, and ridiculed by the press all the time, just how long would it take before they would shut up, I couldn't do it, it's a monumental threshold for abuse. Some of this is Lily Allen's opinion but that should not make her a victim of the press. Other people in Lily Allen's problems have been wrong. I'll stick by that!
