The new, mental-well-being-improved Chan Marshall of Cat Power seems to have gotten over her aversion to playing live. She's toured quite steadily since the release of last year's great The Greatest. And Marshall's not done with playing live in the '07. After some scattershot appearances over the next couple of months, she'll spend October in the Southern U.S. before heading to Brazil. Two not-so-bad places to be as the weather starts getting colder. Things get all meta when Cat Power plays Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, NC; oddly enough, though, the band isn't playing the Black Cat in our nation's capitol the night before.
