In his review of Cass McCombs' fifth album, WIT'S END, Prefix writer Art Levy posited that it "create[s] a musical world that listeners can dive into and lose themselves in." He also noted that "the complexity and immediacy is often daunting," something that can make the record a somewhat difficult listen. But it's likely that it will also make for an intriguing, albeit moody, live show, which many U.S. and some Canadian cities will be hosting this summer. McCombs' forthcoming tour eats up most of July and brings him from Arizona to Montreal. The Lower Dens serve as the opener for a majority of the jaunt.
