Carl Barat Claims He's "Too Busy" to Reunite Libertines in 2010

The Libertines reunion soap opera continues with it's regularly scheduled programming, as Carl Barat has announced that he is "too busy" to reunite with Pete Doherty in 2010, which Doherty has been claiming will happen for six months now.

"I'm too busy next year. Maybe the year after that," he said. "See how it goes. When it needs to happen, it will fall into place. It's more a way of life than a band for me. I’m not going to jump up there and play the songs for some money – if it feels right then it will fall into place."

I'm more interested in what Barat considers "too busy" than the fact that The Libertines reunion isn't going down for a while. What kind of plans can you make a year in advance that would prevent you from going and making bags full of money on a reunion tour? Does he want to get caught up on The Office? [NME]

The Libs are accused of spawning a plethora of sub-par pub-rock acts in the UK (with Arctic Monkeys being the one exception), and their reputation has suffered because of it. Well, that and all the drugs, supermodels, and their own sub-par bands. But the Libs were awesome. Really. I'm with you Andrew, I can't imagine what could be more important. Hell, Pete might not make it to 2011.

Carl said he is working on his solo album and would probably want to promote the album and go on tour
