It appears there will be superheroes in Cleveland once again. Chris Evans will reprise his role as Captain America in the same town where he filmed part of this summer's blockbuster The Avengers.
ComingSoon is reporting the news that directors Joe and Anthony Russo will film around 40 percent of the Captain America: The First Avenger sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier in Cleveland, OH. That's where much of The Avengers was filmed.
The Greater Cleveland Film Commission announced the news, explaining that filming will also take place elsewhere, mostly on California sound stages.
Louis D'Esposito, Marvel's co-president, is happy about filming in Cleveland: "The location, talent and people of Ohio are sure to benefit from our film, and we look forward to beginning production."
Ivan Schwartz, the Greater Cleveland Film Commission's executive director, is also pleased: "We're thrilled that Marvel Studios is bringing another major motion picture project to Cleveland, and we're committed to showing them the very best our region has to offer."
The film's director brothers are from Cleveland. They have worked on the cult television series Arrested Development and Community.
Filming will take place this upcoming spring. The film is set for an Apr. 4, 2014 release date.
