Cam'ron Says Diplomats Reunion is a "Wrap"

Cam'ron has a new album coming out soon (Crime Pays), and as a part of the promotion he's been doing a lot of interviews where the inevitable topic of a Diplomats reunion comes up. Jim Jones is now a documentary star, and Juelz Santana is launching the career of the Skull Gang, and both are still calling themselves Diplomats, but Cam has remained elusive. In an interview with MTV, Cam put the reunion talks to bed, claiming that the Diplomats as they were are done.

"Basically, to be honest — it's a wrap," Cam said. "I called Jim. Everybody has not been speaking for the past three, four years. It just got in the public. Once the problems get in the public, to me, it can't be fixed.

Those problems he's referring to are probably related to Cam selling Juelz's contract to Def Jam, and the various in-fighting that happened when Jay-Z jumped to Def Jam and essentially destroyed the Diplomats' career.

It's good that Cam is putting the Diplomats to bed, because he's the only one that was able to remain unscathed when the crew broke up to go solo; Jones is a walking representation about how talent is undervalued in hip-hop, and same goes for Juelz.

Crime Pays is due out on May 12. [MTV]
