Scottish twee-pop titans Camera Obscura are moving their base of operations a bit closer to home. While the winsome Belle and Sebastian buddies have done just fine working with North Carolina-based Merge Records (a label with no small amount of indie cred, thank you very much), they have decided to pack up their toybox and shift to a label on their own side of the ocean. Their new home, 4AD, isn't lacking in said cred either -- in fact, it's been pumping out intriguing, unconventional sounds even longer than Merge. Clearly this is a case of going from strength to strength for the Scottish softies, who say they are "understandably excited" to be on the "somewhat smashing" British label. They've also promised to reveal the details of their new album soon, which has been rumored to be set for an '09 appearance, followed (cross your fingers) by a tour.
