Due to its huge deficit, California is mulling a number of revenue-raising ventures to try to prevent the state from crumbling. You've probably heard about the legalizing marijuana thing (as every stoner in a hundred mile radius has told you), but the new idea floating in the state assembly is turning Neverland into a state park.
Obviously Neverland could be a huge tourist attraction ("Look, this is the room where Michael probably diddled children"), but the state would have to purchase the property first, which probably wouldn't be cheap. The company that owns it has said in the past it could sell for $70 million to $90 million ("The price goes up, because this is the room where Michael allegedly diddled children"). [WSJ]
