Califone Sign to Dead Oceans, Ready All My Friends Are Funeral Singers for October Release

Dusty post-blues outfit Califone have announced that they are leaving long-time label Thrill Jockey (which released their last two albums, 2004's Heron King Blues and 2006's Roots & Crowns) for Dead Oceans, and are releasing their seventh album, All My Friends Are Funeral Singers, on that label on October 6.

The album is apparently a companion piece to frontman Tim Rutili's film of the same name, which Rutili plans to enter in festivals next year. The band will apparently also be playing as a live soundtrack to the movie on an upcoming tour.

Here's the caps-lock heavy track list, which doesn't really give away what the movie is about:

01 Giving Away the Bride
02 Polish Girls
03 1928
04 Funeral Singers
05 SNAKE'S TOOTH = PROTECTION AGAINST FEVER AND LUCK IN GAMBLING
06 Buñuel
07 Ape-Like
08 A WISH MADE WHILE BURNING ONIONS WILL COME TRUE
09 Evidence
10 Alice Marble Gray
11 Salt
12 Krill
13 SAVEN, FOURTEEN, OR TWENTY-ONE KNOTS
14 Better Angels
