Though he's been in music for over 30 years, Butch Vig might still be best known for his work with Nirvana, namely as the producer for the band's 1991 stone-cold classic Nevermind. So after finding out about Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson's comments about a possible Kurt Cobain solo album ("It would have been his 'White Album'"), Vig was inclined to offer his own two cents on the matter.
Basically, Vig denies that Cobain recorded any solo demos but doesn't deny that Cobain might have been thinking about solo work. "He was working on songs, but they were just in his head," Vig told NME in its latest issue. "He might have just played them to Eric."
So it looks like unreleased Cobain songs are coming out no time soon, but, man, what might have been.
