Burial new Mercury Prize favorite, according to bookmakers

Radiohead, a band that everyone knows, is no longer the presumptive favorite for the British Mercury Prize for best British album. That spot has been taken over by Burial, a dubstep producer who no one knowns. The anonymous Burial, who has even been rumored to be Thom Yorke himself, is the new odd-on favorite for the Mercury Prize at 3/1 odds for his/her/its album Untrue. That surpasses Yorke and Radiohead's In Rainbows, which had been as high as 9/2 odds, but has recently been pushed back to 5/1.

The updated odds are as follows:

Burial - Untrue: 3/1

Radiohead - In Rainbows: 5/1

Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid: 6/1

The Last Shadow Puppets - The Age of the Understatement: 8/1

Laura Marling - Alas, I Cannot Swim: 12/1

British Sea Power - Do You Like Rock Music?: 12/1

Estelle - Shine: 12/1

Neon Neon - Stainless Style: 14/1

Rachel Unthank And The Winterse - The Bairns: 14/1

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss -  Raising Sand: 16/1

Adele - 19: 16/1

Portico Quartet - Knee-Deep in the North Sea: 25/1

I'd say the Burial album is the best from this group, and it would definitely give the Mercury Prize a bit more street cred than going with In Rainbows.

I think the Burial is the best from the group as well, although I listen to it less than half as often as the Radiohead one.
