Aside from a tour last year with King of Leon, Built To Spill have been relatively quiet following the release of October 2009’s There Is No Enemy. They have since started playing out again, however, and frontman Doug Martsch told Rolling Stone that songwriting for LP8 has already started. They don’t have a name for the album or a projected release date, but it seems likely that it could drop in 2012.
Although, Martsch did note that it could be released in 2013, which leaves us thinking they’re more interested in playing out next year than finalizing another album. We’ll have to wait and see, though it’s good to know they’re still working on new material.
