Just when '90s pop sensation The Backstreet Boys were prepping something like their third comeback in seven years, Brian Littrell gets diagnosed with the dreaded swine flu. Isn't that just the luck?
Just off the cusp of releasing their new single "Straight Through My Heart," the boys had a whole list of promotional events to get to, including a performance on CBS' Early Show and a private performance at New York's PC Richard & Son Theater. Needless to say, Littrell's recent diagnoses has hindered the band's initial promotional activities.
Meanwhile, the rest of the BSB clan (Nick Carter, AJ McLean and Howie Dorough) have met with doctors to ensure they hadn't contracted anything (they haven't) and were prescribed Tamiflu just in case.
This isn't the first medical malady to befall Littrell; in 1998 the singer had open-heart surgery to fix a chronic heart murmur. And since swine flu is said to pose a bigger threat to those with heart conditions, the line "quit playing games with my heart" couldn't ring more true than at this moment.
