Stephen Colbert brags about the "Colbert bump" all the time with music guests, but how about the "Obama bump?" After using Bruce Springsteen's "We Take Care Of Our Own" following President Obama's acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention last week, the song saw a 409% rise in sales with 2,000 downloads--its best sales week since debuting in March.
The track comes from Springsteen's Wrecking Ball, which also got a hefty boost in sales following the DNC. It rose eighty-seven places on the Billboard 200 after moving 3,000 units, an increase of 37% from the week previous to the DNC. That's some good old-fashioned job-creatin' right there. [Billboard]
