Bruce Springsteen Is Crazy For Best Coast

Best Coast are probably more influenced by the Ramones than Bruce Springsteen, but that doesn't mean the two can't have some mutual respect for each other. On Sirius XM radio, the Boss was asked which bands he likes and thinks have a shot of being the next generation's version of himself. His response:

I can't name anybody, you know. I find a lot of music I like of all kinds, you know. I don't know a lot about the artists. I just stumbled upon this band Cherry Ghost. Anybody here heard of Cherry Ghost? Cherry Ghost is good, alright. And I like this band Best Coast. They do kind of a....there's just a lot of good music out there.

I mean I don't know who's going to last or who's going to sort of take that particular position, it's hard to say. But there's Josh Ritter, great songwriter. There's just a lot of good songwriters.

He also gives a shout out to the Gaslight Anthem, Against Me! and the Dropkick Murphys, whom he saw when his kids brought him to their show. Which, aww, Bruce Springsteen sounds like such a cute dad.

But the dude from Wavves better watch out that Bruce doesn't steal his girl. Luckily, they'll be going on tour together through March, so that ought to keep things safe.
