Mojo magazine is an expensive purchase if you live in North America, but this month’s edition is more than worth the cover price. Tom Waits has guest edited all the content, which includes pieces on Johnny Cash, Hank Williams III, Nirvana, the White Stripes, and Harry Belafonte.
Like most issues of the magazine, the Waits issue has a free CD attached to the cover, which the singer compiled himself. It turns out he provided Mojo with four pages of suggestions for the cover-mounted disc, and a sample of his scrawl can be seen below, or in more depth here.
Expected names like Captain Beefheart, Elvis Presley, and Bob Dylan feature, although a few eyebrows might be raised at some of the names: Fat Joe, Jay-Z, Run DMC, and the Bee Gees apparently all get heavy rotation in the Waits household. A Waits cover of “Staying Alive” from Saturday Night Fever would be precious.

I'd like to hear his version of "Lean Back."
pretty awesome to see "lean back" there.
Surprised he doesn't prefer the more jazzy influenced Hip-Hop like Tribe Called Quest or De La Soul
