Fest mania: party on 'till the break of dawn in Brooklyn
If you've got no plans for this Saturday night and like staying up into the wee, wee hours, you might be interested in what's scheduled to go down at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. It's a multimedia extravaganza organizers are calling Takeover that will take place between 9 PM and 4 AM. Musical acts scheduled to rock the event include Be Your Own Pet, Antibalas, Dirty of Purpose, the Exit, and Heartless Bastards. There will be plenty of DJs spinning, as well as concert films such as Stop Making Sense, Gimme Shelter, and Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars playing. Don't know what this necessarily has to do with music, but there will also be a "Lindsay Lohan Mid-Career Retrospective" featuring films including Mean Girls and I Know Who Killed Me. (Insert your, "Mid-career? Like she has any career left!" quips here.) For full details on all the goings on and how you can be a part of them, head to Takeover's website.
