What do Broken Social Scene, Lindsay Lohan, and Bret Easton Ellis all have in common? The upcoming film The Canyons, which was written by Ellis, stars Lohan, and is set to be scored by Broken Social Scene's Brendan Canning.
The film's tagline is "It's not the hills." What is it then? According to The Canyons' Facebook page, it's about "the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition, both personally and professionally, among a group of young people in their 20's." It's set in modern-day Los Angeles but is slated to be a contemporary noir that features "deceit, paranoia, cruel mind games and ultimately violence." That, and Canning's rousing music, porn star James Deen, and an appearance by director Gus Van Zant.
Shooting begins this summer, and for now you can watch a teaser trailer full of L.A. nightshots and Dum Dum Girls' "Coming Down." [P4k]
