Broken Social Scene, Yo La Tengo Playing German Festival

For those of you not up on Arcade Fire's German distribution rights: City Slang is a Berlin-based label that has been providing the Fatherland with physical copies of top-tier indie releases (by Broken Social Scene, Vic Chesnutt, etc) since 1990. That's right: City Slang has been around for 20 years, and what would 20 years mean without a high profile bash? Unfortunately for us Americans, the festivities will be taking place in Berlin. Fortunately for people who live in Berlin, the three-day bash (from November 19 to 21) will feature performances by the likes of Broken Social Scene, Tortoise, and Yo La Tengo, with the latter act playing a "City Slang-centric set with special guests." Well, at least we have the Matador festival to look forward to... [Pitchfork]
