Broken Social Scene Play Wedding Singers in <i>Time Traveler's Wife</i>

The constantly lineup-shifting collective of Broken Social Scene are clearly a romantic bunch, but you probably still wouldn't peg them as wedding singers. This is not so (sort of), as the band makes a turn as matrimonial crooners in the still unreleased The Time Traveler's Wife, about the relationship between a Chicago librarian who involuntarily time travels, and his wife.

Based on a novel by Audrey Niffenegger, the film stars Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams as the librarian and his wife. Because of unfavorable responses at early test-screenings (complaints about the convoluted nature of the plot, complicated by the concept of time travel), the film which was supposed to be released last year still remains in post-development limbo, though the film has apparently seen another edit recently. Four members of Broken Social Scene (including Kevin Drew, Brendan Canning, and Justin Peroff) appear in the film playing an unidentified BSS song before transitioning into Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart," which certainly matches the tone of the book.
