Broken Social Scene Play Show with Full Line-up, Appear in Movie

One day, there is going to be a Broken Social Scene box set, and it is going to be enormous. It will actually be the first "crate set" in history. Included in it, will likely be epic live shows like the one that went down in Toronto this past weekend.

Broken Social Scene put on a free show at Toronto's Harbourfront Centre last Saturday, and they brought "the ladies." Metric's Emily Haines, Stars' Amy Milan, and Feist all showed up and performed with the band, which is something that hasn't happened in years. You can see more videos of that right here.

Also, despite having a book and an LP forthcoming sometime in the future, Broken Social Scene also needs a movie. That's right, Director Bruce McDonald and writer Dan McKellar are making This Movie is Broken, which will be about a couple trying to get backstage passes to a Broken Social Scene show, and all the drama that ensues. It might be a little bit of a stretch that Broken Social Scene is a "backstage pass" kind of band, but I guess that's Canada for you.
