Britney Spears Releases Official Version Of Overly AutoTuned New Single
Britney Spears' new single, "Hold It Against Me," hits the AutoTune pretty hard from the outset, but lots of recent pop songs have relied on that particular brand of studio magic. More interesting is that the conceit of the song is essentially the same as The Bellamy Bothers' country chestnut "If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body." While the transition of Spears into country music has long been expected, most artists just jump in with both feet. Maybe Spears felt like she needed to a little thematic transition before ceding pop music to a younger generation and recording for the boots and pick-up set. [AUX]
