British Sea Power Near Completion of New Album

Blogging on the band’s website, British Sea Power guitarist Noble said, “We are well into recording and writing our 5th album, and have over 15 songs on the go.” The as-yet-untitled album follows in the wake of the Man of Aran documentary soundtrack released earlier this year. British Sea Power broke onto the U.K. music scene with the phenomenal The Decline of British Sea Power in 2003, and has a reputation for performances that include twigs, foliage, air-raid sirens, plastic birds, and the occasional 10-foot-tall bear. In 2008, Do You Like Rock Music? was nominated for the British Mercury Prize.

Noble goes on to write, “Graham Sutton (who mixed DYLRM?) has moved into the rented Farmhouse where (lead singer, guitarist) Yan has been living the last year and it’s all coming together piece by piece. We hand over bits of the jigsaw and Graham puts it together.” No indication on what the release date for the new album might be, or why Noble feels compelled to capitalize the word farmhouse. [NME]
