More covers for charity

Seems the trend of getting a bunch of bands together to do crazy covers for the benefit of a charity organization is really taking off. That latest example is Bridging the Distance, a collection curated by Arena Rock Recordings (and set to be released by that label on April 17) featuring Portland-based bands. Proceeds from the album's sales will go to p:ear, which the label describes as "a local education, art, and recreational program for homeless and transitional youth." Curious highlights include the Thermals doing Zep's "Tangerine," the Minus 5 handling Skynard's "That Smell," the Dandy Warhols' with the Cult's "She Sells Sanctuary," and Blitzen Trapper on Heart's "Crazy on You." Follow on after the jump for complete details on who is covering what...

Not sure if Britt Daniel's Sam Cooke cover will be great, but I'm real curious to hear it.

I'm curious as to why he's even on this. Does he live in Portland and not Austin anymore?
