My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts, the 1981 collaboration of the art-rock dream team of Brian Eno and David Byrne, has seen a resurgence of interest of late thanks to an excellently-timed rerelease in 2006. Perhaps the recent success of that project has caused the two impresarios to join forces again.
Today Stereogum reported that the duo's next project, Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, will be coming out next month, and has been in the works for over a year. The duo promises the album will be more song-oriented than focusing on collages, which wouldn't be a big surprise if it was any other two people in the world collaborating. There will even be a gospel tinge, an indulgence of the recent tastes of Byrne.
The track listing is as follows:
01. "Home"
02. "My Big Nurse"
03. "I Feel My Stuff"
04. "Everything That Happens"
05. "Life Is Long"
06. "The River"
07. "Strange Overtones"
08. "Wanted For Life"
09. "One Fine Day"
10. "Poor Boy"
11. "The Lighthouse"
The album will be available for a free digital preview next week, and the full fledged digital release will come on August 18th. The album will be self-released, natch, and I'm sure there will be a deluxe CD edition once Byrne and Eno decide to get around to it.
