Brandon Flowers strikes again!

Via: NME
Killers frontman Brandon Flowers just doesn't seem to have the common sense to shut up for two minutes. Flowers shared more of his personal insights recently, this time taking aim at Green Day and their anti-American agenda. Flowers was particularly offended by the band's DVD Bullet In A Bible.
''"You have Green Day and 'American Idiot'. Where do they film their DVD? In England''¦A bunch of kids screaming 'I don't want to be an American idiot' I saw it as a very negative thing towards Americans. It really lit a fire in me."
But wait, there's more:
"I just thought it was really cheap. To go to a place like England or Germany and sing that song - those kids aren't taking it the same way that he meant it. And he [Billie Joe Armstrong] knew it."
And, of course, the requisite album plug:
"People need to see that, really, there are the nicest people in the world here! I don't know if our album makes you realise that. But I hope it's from a more positive place."
Brandon Flowers: Defender of the American people. As a Canadian, I can only hope that someday we could breed such a staunch protector.

This guys shamelessly promotes more than Fiddy and Diddy.

Why did they film it there? Because they get a stronger response there as what is 'alternative' here is mainsteam there... almost ALL those kids are listening to (what at least they perceive to be) counter culture music... I mean Brandon is the one who said "We did a hometown show and it was tame compared to Blackpool (England)"... so he OBVIOUSLY knows that is why Green Day did that.. I mean I can't stand Green Day... but it's the pot calling the kettle black on this one...

The new Killers album recieved comparison to Springsteen. Mr. Flowers only wishes he had an ounce of talent that Springsteen has. He is in the same category as the bands hes bashing.

Green Day's been hack since _Warning_. We thought "Good Riddance" was some sort of gutsy departure from their hard-core punk roots. The formula-pop crap they've been releasing since is proof they've simply gone mainstream themselves. _American_Idiot_ is just a (lame) attempt to recertify their punk bona-fides.Ooo...bash the Americans (or more specifically the American Right)...who's doing THAT these days?! How novel!Talk about hack formulaic efforts.Nice try, Billie Joe. Enjoy your millions.

the pre-dookie berkeley days bza. or thats when they were supposedly hardcore punk.

Well, I'm not sure about "hard core" punk, but you can easily track the degredation of GD through the years. Am I right? This latest attempt seems to be a desperate grope.

There was never a single recorded song by Green Day that approached hard core punk. In fact, Dookie was probably the closest to punk that the group ever got.As for their desperate grope, it seems to have succeeded fairly well, as the fan base that they had lost over the ten years since dookie has been growing back since the release of american idiot.

Your an idiot. Flowers has just as much right to be offended by Green Day's pure-crap album as Green Day has to record it. BTW Green Day weak lyrics and music can't hold a candle to The Killers.

Not a huge fan of Green Day, so I'm not rushing to their defence. As an Australian I agree with Flowers that most people in the US are good, decent people (which is what I think he's trying to say....maybe) Oh well, the guy is a musician not a Rhodes Scholar, so stop expecting intelligent quotes from him....or any real intelligence for that matter. And lighten up die-hard Killers fans...in the big scheme of things, none of this stuff matters a damn. Really people! Get a life!!!
