Bradford Cox rarely sits still, and he has lurched straight from his touring duties with Deerhunter into a new Atlas Sound project. The Logos album, which has endured a problematic (and long) gestation period, is finally set to see the light next week on Kranky in the U.S. and 4AD in the U.K.
Cox will also participate in one of the most hotly anticipated tours of the fall when he hits the road with Broadcast and fellow Atlanta band the Selmanaires. The latter will provide backing for Cox when he hits the stage for his Atlas Sound set. There is also a bonus EP being made available to promote Logos, which will hopefully fend off illegal downloaders.
The EP will only be available to anyone ordering the album through Rough Trade, and includes a mixture of rerecordings and new tracks. “Kid Klimax” and “Criminals” from the record are rendered acoustically on the EP, while the other three tracks from the always-prolific Cox are brand new songs.
