Boy George moved to “softer” cell block

Boy George got tossed in the slammer earlier this month for false imprisonment and assault, and apparently the dude’s been doing just fine in prison: He’s recently been moved to a "softer," less strict cell block because he was getting the celebrity treatment from the other prisoners (and guards) on the tougher block.

“The governors were taken aback by how popular he was," said a prison insider. "A lot of the guys are of the age when they remember what a big star he was and how good the Culture Club songs were. But some officers were being too kind and giving him smokes. It’s ironic that he was worried about getting beaten up in Pentonville but all that happened was people showered him with so much attention and kindness that they had to move him anyway.”

Apparently everyone that works or is in prison in England have the same pop cultural tastes as they did in 1985. But still, I’m sure Boy George is the biggest celebrity a lot of them have seen, nonetheless shared quarters with. [Perez Hilton
