Bono paints the iPod Nano Red

Who knew Oprah's show was the place to go for breaking tech news? Word is that the Friday show will feature Bono unveiling a new red iPod Nano for the same price as the pink and green models. $10 of your purchasing price will go to support the Project RED initiative that is taking on the thorny problem of AIDS in Africa. At the very least the Nano is cooler than a red Gap t-shirt.

If, like me, you insist that your custom colors be purple with black highlights, ColorWare has an iPod for you. They've recently made the refreshed 5th Gen iPods available in customized color combinations, as well as the new Nano, for a mere $75 bump over normal price. If you already have an iPod in some dull stock color you can send it for a touchup.
