Bon Jovi Named NBC's First "Artist in Residence"

Though the NBC page strike on last night’s 30 Rock was fictional, the network does appear to be in need of a couple extra hands. And it’s found those hands connected to Jon Bon Jovi’s arms. As the new Artist in Residence, Bon Jovi will spend a lot of time promoting his upcoming album The Circle on various NBC Universal outlets, including the Today show, The Tonight Show, the Jay Leno Show, Saturday Night Live, NBC Nightly News, and NBC-owned Bravo's Inside the Actors Studio (?!?!). Yep, Bon Jovi sure will spend a lot of his time over at NBC. And by a lot of his time, I mean all of his time. Because he is literally not allowed to do anything else:

“Mr. Bon Jovi is being called NBC’s “artist in residence” for the two-month period — and that means he won’t be anywhere else. “Of course you usually try to be out there everywhere, when a new album is coming out,” Mr. Bon Jovi said in a telephone interview on Wednesday. “So we have to sacrifice certain shows and relationships. We hope this doesn’t jeopardize any of them. But in a shrinking media environment, you have to kind of reinvent the wheel.” [New York Times]

Wheel reinvention commences this November.
