Those mid-year tour reports that found Bon Jovi sitting atop the money making list have turned out to be accurate come year’s end, as Bon Jovi’s Lost Highway Tour is the year’s biggest, grossing $210.6 million. Bruce Springsteen’s Magic tour placed second with $204.5 million, and Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet (& Gross… burn) tour came in third with $162 million.
Overall, the touring economy was up 13% to just under $4 billion, while attendance went down 2%. The highest grossing festival was Bonnaroo with $17 million over four days (Lollapalooza did $14.1 million in three), and the highest grossing tour was the Spice Girls reunion tour, which made $70 million in only 17 dates.
