Bon Iver to Play With High School Jazz Band

Justin Vernon, the brains behind Bon Iver, doesn't need to try to impress us anymore: we fell in love with him after For Emma, Forever Ago , stayed in love after January EP Blood Bank , and just keep finding out endearing things about him. (For example, as Pitchfork points out , he designed a t-shirt and chose to donate the proceeds to a women's shelter in Toronto. Oh, and his mom cries every time she hears "Re: Stacks.")

So basically, it's all icing at this point when it comes to adorable Justin Vernon news. But that doesn't make this latest announcement any less sweet: he'll be playing a special show with the jazz band from his own high school in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. And proceeds from the show will send the band to an "Essentially Ellington" competition at Lincoln Center this May. Justin Vernon is a saint. Ladies, that feeling behind your ribcage is your heart melting.

My cousin actually goes to Eau Claire Memorial. I might call him to see if I can get tickets.
