There's no denying that Bon Iver's new LP, Bon Iver, Bon Iver, has been one of this year's most high-profile releases, with even your hometown newspaper probably running a story about how Justin Vernon smoked weed with Rick Ross after he lived in Eau Claire, Wisc., for most of his life. It's well-deserved of course, and now comes the news that all the promotion paid off: Bon Iver, Bon Iveris the number two album in the country, selling 104,000 copies in its first week. That's good enough to beat current chart queen Adele, whose 102,000 (and 2.4 million sales overall) was good for number three. The number one album in the country? Jill Scott's Light of the Sun, which moved an impressive 137,000 copies, her first number one album. Expect Adele to take the number one spot again next week, probably. But still. Bon Iver #2 on Billboard! [Hits Daily]
